| BASIC BELIEFS |
When the chips are down and the future is dark and uncertain, when all that remains is the reality of life and death, love and giving, there are certain undeniable truths in life that give life meaning and hope. These basic beliefs are the foundation of who we are and why we place ourselves, our lives and our future into the hands of God. God gives life meaning. [Isaiah 64:8] "Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." God is good all the time. [Psalm 136:1] "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever."
God never gives up on us. [Jeremiah 29:11] "I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
God can restore what is broken. [John 1:29] "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
God is nearer than you think. [Psalm 34:18] “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
God calls us to love and serve others. [John 13:34] "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
Prayer connects us with God’s transforming presence and power. [Psalm 116:2] “Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.”
